March 2002, can we still eat it? Will it be really mature and rich (very boozy one!) or will it kill us?

In the old days people used to keep home-made puds for years IIRC and there's no mould on it and it smells OK...

(We probably won't eat it anyway, we're usually too stuffed, which is why it's still in the cupboard)

Ach, I don't believe in sell-by dates. Cook it and sniff it, it'll be reet

Janh · 24/12/2005 13:02

Aye lass, it will

I could add some interesting liquid to make it a bit squidgier...

If you douse it in brandy and set it alight, that'll kill any nasties anyway...won't it?

Janh · 24/12/2005 18:45

I've got some brandy now!

If you don't see me here again after Christmas dinner - it was nice knowing you all...

laugh

Did you get your bargain turkey in the end, Janh? Was thinking of you today at 4pm!

Janh · 24/12/2005 20:13

We got one earlier than that, GA! For some reason they were half-price in Tesco at lunchtime - not Prince Charles's ones or free-range or anything, but still we got a nice big one for a tenner so that's OK

Also a 1.5k pork loin from Sainsbos - not reduced sadly but we are equipped now so won't be eating sausages only. How about you?

It's looking like it's defrosty... trifle is made... kid's wooden train table assembled... presents under tree.

Now for Santa's sherry
