Everything seems to set me off at the moment! We went to the Narnia film today and the beginning part when the children are being evacuated on the train really was gut wrenching for me. And the news stories of child cruelty recently have broken my heart. Anything to do with little ones really. I have two sons 18 months and 4.5 years old. We are a happy family. But everytime I see something related to children that is sad, I am bawling! Help!!!

Perfectly natural! The child cruelty cases have always had me in bits, long before I had my own child. It's so bad now that I can't bear to read about them but I feel guilty burying my head in the sand

Sorry, can't offer much help, but I'm sure most people here feel the same, whether they shed a tear or feel their gut wrenching or whatever. It's important to spare thoughts for other people's suffering and do something to help but try not to dwell on it. Enjoy your happy family and look forward to Christmas.

I cried at that bit in narnia too

and listening to Radio 2 yesterday when they were speakinga bout a stolen baby penguin!

Its all part of being a parent.

I even get squeemish at casualty now too.

Totally natural and healthy too, IMO. These things provide an outlet for a lot of the emotional gunk which builds up in us all.

for some reason that penguin story gets me really worked up (and I'm not an animal person).

Just the thought of some git stealing that poor baby and the mother and father pining for it. It's probably dead now aswell.

Thats what it is - thinking of the parents or the children in each case and thinking what it would be like if it was my kids.

Glad to know its normal though.

I'm the same. I've been worrying about it so it is good to hear that it is normal.
