ChunkerXmasCake · 23/12/2005 19:08

Oh, balls. There's no hope for me then? Haven't posted nearly as much since I've been on mat leave though

Enideepmidwinter · 23/12/2005 19:18

there is no point in me giving up as have new baby on the way so will be here for a while yet

biglipskissinunderthemistletoe · 23/12/2005 19:19

i dont think ill be going as yet!

FlameRobin · 23/12/2005 19:24

Oooh, I'd forgotten that DD will be starting nursery after Easter holidays... all those mornings with just a newborn to care for... hmmm... what to do with my time????

Earlybird · 23/12/2005 19:52

I'd be curious to hear exactly how all of you plan to cut down. Will you limit yourself to only certain days, a set time per day? Some other method? I've thought of cutting back too, as I have a big project in the new year, but haven't yet decided on a good reduction method.....

Mumsnet is such a valuable resource for support, advice, general information and laughs. But, it does eat up alot of time...at least in my life!

NomDePlumPudding · 23/12/2005 19:55

I'm cutting back, I had a break earlier this year for about a month or so. I got loads done, it really shocked me actually ! All my good intentions fly out of the window when I sit at the pc/laptop. Going to try to cut it down to an hour every other week day (I don't really MN at weekends).

bauble99 · 23/12/2005 19:56

Strong will and an ability to stay away from the pooter, I reckon. The thing is, if I'm checking email etc, I then find myself on mnet.

3 sleeps to a better life! (or name change)

i vow to give up mumsnet in the new year of 2019

suedonim · 29/12/2005 22:32

I'm likely to be giving up MN involuntarily because we're moving somewhere with dodgy internet connections.

sparklymieow · 29/12/2005 22:33

hahahhahahahaha, maybe for a few weeks when we move.

Janh · 29/12/2005 22:34

I need to....

Gingerbear · 29/12/2005 22:35

If I don't cut down, I will probably be sacked.

xmasmcmudding · 29/12/2005 22:37

fnar

Mytwopenceworth · 30/12/2005 22:18

I think I'll stop, nothing interesting happens here anyway, and most of the posters are rather dull. Conversation is stilted and not intellectually challenging and there are no juicy arguments to peek in on. Don't know why I bother, really.

UCM · 31/12/2005 02:06

See you on Jan 1st at about 2am then?

LadyTophamHatt · 31/12/2005 07:00

Not giving up but will be trying to cut back.
Actually I may not have much choice....moving house so internet access will be cut for a while then we'll have slightly less money coming in so I'll be baking and cooking real food much more.

And finally DH will be home alot more so he'll be around to nag.
And OMG he can nag!!

Are you mad???

MrsMiggins · 31/12/2005 18:28

oooh me too Gingerbear

I cant stop myself going on recently and we've just had an email round the dept "reminding everyone about not abusing the internet"

twirlingaroundthechristmastree · 31/12/2005 18:59

You are all barmy. Why not give up breathing too?

WideWebWitch · 31/12/2005 19:45

Goodness, I won't be giving it up. I can't get on during working hours in the week atm anyway and I don't always have internet access on weekday evenings but I really like catching up at weekends atm and can't imagine why I'd give up. Mumsnet can answer any question I'm ever likely to have about anything, has provided me with some great rl friends, makes me laugh, makes me think, let's me whinge and cheers me up. And I reckon in 2006 it's going to help me lose weight, be a better mother and a happier person - what's not to like?

Mercy · 31/12/2005 19:48

What a ridiculous question - I've only just joined mind you (in that is)

LadySherlockofLGJ · 31/12/2005 20:04

I gave up MN last year............
