after weeks of seeing my mil juggle fistfuls of papers of christmas lists and repetition of gifts bought, i am thinking there must be better way of doing this in the 21st century.
so, my question is : is there any website which you can hold say, 12 christmas lists and issue everyone with passwords so they can take off what they have bought on these lists but not able to see their own list?

Amazon do gift lists, but only for things bought in their shops. And of course, you can see your own list.

Do people in your family write their own gift lists? Or does someone else?

You could write gift lists on Amazon for other people, just don't tell them where they are, iyswim?

yes, everybody write their own lists but it is not from one particular shop so wish lists on particular websites like amazon won't work unfortunately.

Hmm, I know there are companies that "do" wedding lists, but they generally charge a good whack for it.

was wondering if a personal webpage would do the trick but i'm not technical enough to know how

and i keep thinking, there MUST be a way - it is the 21st century after all!!!!

Oh, wait, I'm digging, there are definately sites out there. This looks ok, but I think you can only put gifts that are online on it. Dunno if you can say "a black sweater" or "some toast", iyswim.

I googled for "gift list service", and quite a few came up.

Ok, I think I've found it. This one is free, and has no adverts. You can put things on your list that aren't in shops, which looks useful.

Let me know if any one of them turns out to be good ...

I've been following this thread with interest as I'd been thinking the same thing. WhatToGive looks great. Probably a bit late for Christmas this year although I think I might sign up anyways and use it for the kids birthdays. I like the way you can add separate lists for each child but all under the one account. Should make organizing the dreaded parties easier.

i know lizzeemum. can't wait to try it out. 11 months to go
