If I'm gripped to a particlular thread and I want to check for recent messgaes then I just leave the thread on my screen and click 'refresh' on my web tool bar. If I'm flitting between a few threads then I go to the Active Conversations board and click refresh to see which thread is at the top (and therefore, has the most recent message on it). I think that doing it via search is a very log winded way to do it unless you have been away from a thread for a decent amount of time (2+ hours?) and you want to check on most recent responses.

I'm here but going to bed now. Beloved light of my life ds2 woke up at 5.30 this morning (and then I realised clocks had gone back so really 4.30) and I am dead on my feet. Plus have FIL and MIL to stay til Wednesday so also knackered fom being perfect DIL, hostess with the mostest, and cooking sumptuous Delia Smith type meals for 6 people.

Night all.

FineVintage · 26/10/2003 22:17

me too. It's the start of the half term hols for DS's tomorrow so I'll need to get my strength up for 24/7 solid 11yr old, 10yr old and 14 month old ! I HATE THE SCHOOL HOLS !

Goodnight all

Yep, it's over. Nice cgi except for that one scene. Odd that. Otherwise dismal movie. Can't wait to buy the next.

JJ · 26/10/2003 22:39

Oops, I was up and watching the Matrix Reloaded...

penpal · 26/10/2003 22:54

Hi', I'm not new but I haven't been active with Mumsnet for about 2 years. Various reasons, stopped work (logged on there initially), then at home when pregnant(lost the babe) then the PC went do-lally and I couldn't read/write anything on Talk. Anyway I now have a BEAUTIFUL new baby boy, a new PC and can talk to you all again. OOOO bliss.

I found the new Matrix film crap and only watched about 10 mins then went to bed. Husband said it was OK but the ending was extremely and XXXXXX frustrating and not worth the money hiring it. (If that's any help in deciding to give up watching).

anais · 26/10/2003 22:57

Penpal, welcome back and congratulations about the new babe, how old?

JJ · 26/10/2003 23:06

Sad to say, I'm looking forward to the next one. Not as much as Return of the King, but, y'know... they're (Matrix-ites) much nicer looking than hobbits. Although give me an elf or human king any day. (Not that I've thought about it?)
