Other people just make Christmas stressful!

Just popped out down the local high street and Asda for some milk and it's manic.

Why do people go mad at Christmas and get all stressed about getting and cooking a turkey or whether Tescos have ran out of brussel sprouts?

I used to work for Sainsburys and had to do a few days helping out in store every Christmas and it was mind blowing the shops are shut for 2 days but people would be buying 10 loaves and I would see families with 3 trollies piled high and groceries coming to over £400.

Are we conned into thinking we must go mad at Christmas? You see everyone else panicking about when to get their carrots etc and you get caught up in it!

When I worked in Sainsburys, people were queueing up before the turkey delivery had been. As soon as the poor staff could get them on the shelves they were gone. Madness!

they go mad her ein Aus as well and our shops are open from 8am Friday morning until 5pm Saturday.... BUT still people are going mad at this early stage. I have to go grocery shopping in an hour or so - just he normal shop and am dreading it - have to take 3yo and 1yo too.

The strangest thing I saw in the UK was cops directing traffic and a queue over a mile long ( on tiny road) on CHristmas EVE for people picking up their turkeys from a turkey farm near us.... madness BUT it is where Delia gets her turkey from.

But i can relate to it - last year Christmas was at our house and I was recovering from c-section, no sleep etc and Woe betide anyone who crossed me. This year - my mum is feeding us so I just need to get a few little extras.
