my job pays well and i don't have to put any home prepartion in before i go. i love being part-time although i am really looking forward to no school run /nursery run /work scramble. will get batteries charged over Christmas holidays. It keeps me sane as full-time with 4 and 2.5 year old i lost my identity a bit. love my kids dearly. d/h likes job but hates being away from us on detachment like now. I would love to do something like physcology and get degree at some stage.

DaddyCoolNippingAtYourNose · 18/12/2005 11:21

i hate my job. pays good and is sought after but thats it. its just boring and mostly pointless.

paolosgirl · 18/12/2005 12:00

DH loves his job - to the point of being obsessed (with taxation, poor man, and poor anyone else who has to listen).
I used to like my job, but am beginning to hate it. It's pointless, changes nothing, and working in the NHS means constant changes, depending on the polically correct thinking of the time, at taxpayers expense.

Mistletoo · 18/12/2005 12:07

don't work now of course but I loathed my job with a passion which was a shame cos when I started there I loved - couldn't wait for the weekend to be over so I could get back - then we had a take over

fuzzywuzzy · 18/12/2005 12:17

Yes We both love our jobs, and dp's workmates love him as he's always always happy to cover shifts for friends for various reasons......

LadyTophamInAChristmasHatt · 18/12/2005 12:32

DH loves his job, and the kids love Dh's job. He's a train driver so with 3 boys it's perfect.

I'm a SAHM because I just hate the thought of someone else bringing them up.
As soon as DS3 is in full time school I'm getting a school hours job.
Not sure if that means I love it or hate it.

Donbean · 18/12/2005 13:23

I enjoy my job, im part time and it fits in totally with my home life.
DH also enjoys his job but works long hours which impacts on our family time unfortunately.

expatinscotland · 18/12/2005 14:46

no. i just do it for money.

MerryMegandSnowySoph · 18/12/2005 15:39

nope hate mine and am planning on leaving in january. Toooo many hours!!

saintnik · 18/12/2005 15:46

I enjoy my job but do prefer being part time as it's less stressful. I enjoy talking to people and the challange of sorting out problems.

DH likes his job but it has long hours and he has a lot of extra work to do at home (hospital doctor). He says he'd be bored doing anything else but fantasises about being the editor of geek/gadget magazine like "Stuff".

TIREDofwrappingpressiesEMMA · 18/12/2005 15:48

ladyTopham, my dad is a train driver, both me and my brother thought it was great when we were kids. Now my boys think it so cool that grandad knows "Thomas the Tank engine" personally!

Blandmum · 18/12/2005 15:51

My ds thinks that trains rock, so is v envious of your kids Ladytopamhat! They are totaly unimpressed by dh being a pilot and even less impressed by me being a teacher!

Have to go do a twelve hour shift now and am dreading it.
