It was the bottom one too! It's been wiggly for a couple of days and dropped out when she was eating ds's birthday cake from yesterday. She cried of course, mainly because of the blood. I must admit, it's a bit gory isn't it? There's a big red hole where her tooth used to be!!!!

Have put it into my locket for keeps!

She was one year old when she cut her first teeth so I always assumed they would drop out late! I'm pleased but sad too that my little baby is growing up! Peter Pan had all his baby teeth still, guess she's not going to be Peter Pan then!

ooh theres a website you can print off a free tooth fairy certificate!! just put tooth fairy certificate in a search

How old is she? Mine have lost loads and they are 6. There can be lots of blood especially if its attached to a bit of gum and then comes away quickly. Lol... the red hole soon disappears and a lovely tooth will apper but they never look as nice as the baby one that they lose

She's 5.5. We don't do tooth fairies I'm afraid, I used to believe in all of that as a child, but I went too far and lived my whole life in this fantasy dreamworld, it was my safety net, my security, and when it was taken away I was devastated, therefore I just can't bring myself to tell dd about that kind of stuff. If she asks I answer truthfully that I don't know if fairies exist or not.

She won't eat anything now because it feels 'funny' - I can feel another non-eating excuse coming on!

Awwwww bless her. Mine are not bothered about tooth fairies. We do it sometimes but last time K lost hers and didn't care about the tooth fairy having it

Mine are worse eating when it's wobbly and whinge the whole time

Rhuby, my dd can't wait to lose her first tooth! She is one of few left in her class (in which she's the oldest) who hasn't lost a tooth. But apparently the longer they keep their baby teeth the better so I'm in no rush!

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 12/12/2005 18:54

Why is it better to lose them when they are older?
Have you answered me on the other thread yet? Have you had your man checked out for a criminal record, etc?

Its better for them to keep the baby ones longer cause then they have the adult teeth coming through when hopefully the kids are past the eating loads of rubbish phase and are in the swing of brushing teeth and well aware of dental hygiene.Me thins anyway

Our DD hasn't lost any yet -shes 6.
Shes mighty put-out that her best friend is 2 wks younger than her but has lost a tooth already (along with most of the class)

My dentist told me it doesn't make any difference when they lose their baby teeth and won't affect their teeth one way or another.

MelissasSecretSanta · 12/12/2005 23:38

Don't forget that the saliva mixes with the blood so it can make it look worse than it is!

MelissasSecretSanta · 12/12/2005 23:40

The longer they have the baby teeth in place the better, as it helps to maintain the gap in between the teeth as the new one pushes thru, therefore helping prevent crowding!

If they lose a tooth too soon the gap can close so the permanent tooth comes thru out of line.
