funnily enough we had a thread on this a couple of days ago here

dd2 is currently wearing a lovely pink pair of t-bar shoes that were dd1's, they were hardly worn and they both have the same chubby G-fitting feet. people are so precious

on a sort of related note, Clarks have quite a good sale on atm (lots of half price shoes!)

teeavee · 08/12/2005 10:42

oh flippin eck -I just spent sodding £45 on new shoes for ds yesterday
They are nice, but why o why do they have to charge the earth for kids shoes?

QueensSpeechEagle · 08/12/2005 11:13

I use hand me downs when they are very tiny and don't scuff them to bits. No problem to do this at all.

My sil gave me some immaculate Clarks shoes that my nephew had worn and they did ds3 for a couple of months before he had a new pair.

Ridiculous prices anyway.

I tend to use them as a "second" pair ITSWIM. DD wears old pairs of DS's shoes (same size) for running round the garden in, for example. Can't seriously believe that will permanently damage her feet!

I do, for shoes that haven't been worn much. all my dds have similar shaped feet. the same chunky Clarks G width shoes fit them all.

also i buy nearly-new shoes at NCT good-as-new sales.

just can't believe it really ruins feet if you are a bit careful and check the fitting. after all most children in the world don't have new shoes every few months and they aren't all crippled.

anyway am not impressed by official "trained" fitters they are so haphazard. have bought 2 new pairs of shoes for dd2 this term, am sure the first pair were just not measured correctly.

I will be putting the very expensive sandals I got for ds2 on ebay in....oh probably six weeks or so when he grows out of them. Did't do that for ds1 but I'm going to get some kind of compensation this time. Bloody arm and a leg they were!
