Am wondering whether you lot pop over to the baby modelling thread every so often and post a parp?

As a youngster i knew someone who did child modelling adn every time we went round to "play" her mum would make us sit and watch videos of her doing her latest advert/child catwalk thing etc etc.

I always felt sorry for her brother who always wanted to do it to but couldnt because they could only afford to put one through stage school.

She's actually very very famous now.

handlemecarefully · 05/12/2005 11:14

No I don't snowvictoria - I'm a silent parper!

handlemecarefully · 05/12/2005 11:15

I've been the other side of the modelling lark .. you know actually running castings and hiring them and I have to say .. you don't have the time to care too much about 'feelings' its all about is it the right look

As a mother, I would never put a child through this process .. I think its horrendous

ENIDeepMidwinter · 05/12/2005 11:21

yes we laughed at loads of the kids

MARINAtivityPlay · 05/12/2005 11:29

Good grief, that's terrible cod.
Child modelling a no-no for me too - well aware that the Crunchie approach is not the norm.
I know a woman whose amiable, sweet little child looks like a grinning new potato and she was still miffed when the agency returned its photo.

My best friend's children are both models, although the eldest (a girl) is now at pre-school so not doing too much. But her ds, aged 2 3/4 is now wondering around telling people 'I'm a model' which is a bit worrying.

Very strange for me to walk into Mothercare and be confronted with a huge blown-up pic of her ds with a strange man pretending to be his daddy...

SnowQueenVictoria · 05/12/2005 14:14

No, the band was huge. She was not.

brusselsbeansprout · 05/12/2005 14:17

So, perhaps not very, very famous then?

SnowQueenVictoria · 05/12/2005 14:18

oh no, she is. Although not much at the moment.

brusselsbeansprout · 05/12/2005 14:21

I think you should tell us so we can decide how famous (or not) she is.

MT - she's totally at the other end of the scale from m mcmanus. In many respects.

brusselsbeansprout · 05/12/2005 14:22

Was she in a band though?

Perhaps it is one of the Beverly Sisters?

LIZS · 05/12/2005 14:23

was huge or is huge ?

brusselsbeansprout · 05/12/2005 14:23
