A really lovely thing to do with little ones on Christmas Eve.

My sister got this at a Christmas Fair last year and gave it to my dd.
Basically it was a net bag filled with porridge oats and glitter and tiny crafty sequin bits. It was tied with ribbon and had a note attached which said "On Christmas Eve before you go to bed, sprinkle this reindeer food onto your garden. The magic glitter sparkling in the moonlight and the smell of oats will guide Rudolf right to your home."
If its a cold and clear night with moonlight, it really does look magical.

Just another thing to start me blubbing....

I'm very cautious of glitter - some got into an embarrassing place once and it was agony

Father Christmas left magic elf dust with his letter this morning. DD loved it! Might have to try the reindeer food.

Come on....we know you love xmas really! Do you bounce out of bed in your new PJs to see what Santa has brought for everyone?

Do you drink mulled wine all day and get a bit tipsy? Fill us in.

If you make reindeer foor, use sugar, not glitter. Dye it with food colouring of you like. It still sparkles but disappears FAR more easily than glitter etc.

But yes, remember to scatter it round a lot before you go to bed so that it disappears. Throwing it on grass is better than paving.

You are really one of Santa elves aren't you? but you are pi**ed off with your terms and conditions and would to vent

I do the boot prints with talc n glitter coming from the chimney to the pressies, makes it look like magic snow from lapland Also put some outside where the sledge has landed.

collision · 01/12/2005 21:51

lol.......sort of thing ds would say!

yULeYSEES · 01/12/2005 21:52

Dont use my patio much in the winter so I'm not bothered about a bit of glitter. Only people who use it are smokers and the kids.

We sprinkled reindeer food and glitter last year, left Santa a mincepie, glass of sherry, carrots for the reindeers, kids were soooooo excited, when they were asleep we drank the sherry etc and just left the carrot tops on the deck plus some reindeer poo(donkey poo from a friend), they hopped about in amazement! The kids that is!
