Drives that don't actually have drop kerbs

I work in serviced offices in a residential area and as such the parking situation in the morning can be nightmarish. I often think I've found a spot only to discover that although the kerb is well and truly present, the house infront of the said kerb has a driveway.

This morning I parked the car alongside the kerb, got out, and once again noticed that this house had a drive. There was no car in the 'drive' and as I was late, feeling like I was going to be sick and just couldn't bear the thought of getting back in the car and driving round and round again, I left my car where it was.

Is this wrong or do I have every right to park there as it's not a proper drive?

Opinions please.

Iota - I don't know that it was a man who's out at work all day, it may well be a mum with kids and shopping. But like I say, all I've essentially done is park in front of her house.
She / he doesn't really have a drive imo, she / he just has a concrete front garden.

Her neighbour on the other hand has a drive, she/he has a dropped kepb and I didn't / wouldn't park there.

I know you're not having a go at me and tbh as long as it ddin't get nasty I wouldn't blame anyone for having a bit of a go at me. I don't feel overly happy with where I parked which is why I started the thread, but actually I haven't doen anything wrong in parking there so I won't actually lose any sleep over it.
