I think I have been in one, unless there are many cars that have built in child seats... (it was a taxi, but dear, I feel like taking the back seat with me when we got to the airport )

Volvos can have built in booster seats... is that what you mean? Confused

It was so fantastic that I wanted to steal the back seat (all of it) and place it in my good old Mondeo ) Very impressed...

Obviously, don't take my sentences literally, I can't se how could I have managed to run away with a huge VW Sharan back seat without being stopped by security or being told at the check in that I couldn't fly with that on my luggage allowance

Some way I think you are not going to understand this either...

my friend has - threw caution to the wind & ordered it with child seats in all the rear seats.... and he had no kids at the time... but it did come in useful when he gave us a lift one day!

DS was 15m when we used it and it was fine for him but I think it would be a bit big for a new born, I think the protection to the sides of the head was not particularly good, or at least not as good as some of the expensive second stage car seats, but definitively very practical. The nice thing about it being pulled out from the back of the seat was that it was not too high (perfect for tall toddlers who find it interesting to kick the front seat or hit their heads against the roof while trying to strap them in...)

The base of the seat slides up towards the rear of the seat back to form the booster seat.... according to the Ford Galaxy manual (same as the Sharan) - pull the loop at the bottom front of the seat & push the cushion to the rear until it engages. Then... grasp the loop & pull the booster cushion out of the seatback. To pull out the harness belt, press the locking button of the inertia reel on top of the seatback. remove the cover in the upper area of the seatback (velcro fastener) & run the belt webbings through the upper or lower guiding slots. Fold the cover up & press against it. If the belt webbings are positioned in the upper position, run the belt webbings on top of the cover & press against it. (Height adjusted for child's size) Then put baby into seat, fasten & press the button of the inertia reel until the seat belt is fastened tightly. Pull down the top of the harness until it fits tightly to the body. make sure the safety pads are positioned underneath the buckle.

Hope that makes sense - guess it's easier with the seat infront of you.

Thankyou Mr Ford for the concise instructions!
