feeling positive.....
Mine was a Pollypops (sp?) dolls house when I was about 3, it was a cardboard house with cardboard furniture my dad spent all Christmas day putting together, I can still picture it now and I played with it soooo much.

I got a lovely suprise one Xmas. My dh and I had opened our presents, one item each at a time, then he pulled out a big tube of smarties. I told him I didn't really like smarties. He looked hurt and insisted I open it. I did and inside he had wrapped in tissue paper an Eternity Ring. It was beautiful and I felt terrible about moaning. My dh is colour blind and the stone was green. My engagement ring is blue so I had to get him to swap it........ but I was really chuffed that he had put so much thought into my Crimbo.

I still smile when I think about getting my favourite cuddly toy, a large floppy tiger that I called Albert when I was about 7. I was so thrilled with him. He's currently upstairs on ds2's chair .

As an adult, I think it has to be the purple kitten-heel ankle boots from L.K. Bennett that dh bought me the Xmas I was expecting ds1. My due date was Jan 2nd so I was fat as a house, feeling like an old sack and then I found these gorgeous things under the tree and felt all pretty. They still cheer me up whenever I wear them.

A deep fat fryer when I was seven months pregnant.
My dh knows how much I love receiving 'house' presents (not!). After much persuasion I opened the box, to find a georgeous 18 ct. gold necklace inside. He was forgiven!

DD last year only 9 days before Christmas. But before that a candlestick phone - that really works as well as looking fab (one of those old fashioned brass ones that you hold up to your ear and talk into the big bell mouthpiece, proper dial etc).

courtesy of the aussie government - dh's visa

clary · 24/11/2005 21:12

juice, it's kind of a joke (not a great one tbh)
It's an eternity ring but cause it was to say thank-you for the babies, Dh called it a maternity ring. Geddit? But bless him.
Should add that we were able to replace the stolen one with a virtually identical one from the same shop, and I never take it off now.
Np love the idea of an £850 bag, how lavish!

A brand new Cosmopolitan bike. Dad had bought me a 2nd hand fold up on in the summer and it was cack! To get my brand new bike was the ultimate. It had a tartan box on the back and it was blue. I should really post a pic on the gallery.

Oh and the Grease Album, Book and photo book. This is a very sad story. We went to my Aunts and I got this photo story of Grease (hadn't seen the film cos I woz too young). When we left I couldn't find the book. I was devastated. That has never left me as the book had loads of photos of the film

Realising on Christmas Day 2002 that I must be pregnant, (but not able to clarify til 3 days later as staying with relatives)

Followed closely by a digital camera!

eidsvold · 25/11/2005 02:54

nightowl · 25/11/2005 03:31

Last year my DH bought me some gorgeous underwear, in the correct size! Loads of the stuff, in lovely plums, dark blues etc. I love wearing it all, and he was chuffed that i loved it. I was just impressed that he had got the size right

Angeliz · 25/11/2005 10:30

A motorbike when i was about 10. I begged for onw and didn't expect one and got up with my sisters to lots of pressies so was chuffed anyway. Then my dad asked me to open the curtains (to the patio doors in garden) and there it was.
Tiny fat wheels and eyes on the front.
I nearly made my garden lover mam cry though skidding round her apple trees!

lastofthemulledwine · 25/11/2005 12:54

My first bike was a Christmas present, before then I had used my brother's clapped out hand-me-downs. It was all shiny and red and blue with a basket on the front! I just loved it and didn't want any Christmas dinner because I couldn't eat it on my bike.

As an adult probably a heather gem necklace that DH bought for me on our first Christmas together. We were just teen boyfriend and girlfriend then and 7 yrs later I have only ever taken it off once- on my wedding day so that I could wear the jewellery DH had bought especially for the day.

This year I'm having a camera and that will be top of the list!
