Is there a National Take your Child to Work Day?

Has anyone come across a national date for this? I know it's something that happens in the US, but has anyone come across it here in the UK? Does the Government or a Charity try and sponsor or promote such an event?
I'm just trying to find out information to see if it could be something to set up at the company I work for. We get occasional children coming in for a week's work experience, but it would be good to have one day that we could invite our children (of a certain age!) into the office to a) find out what their paremts do and b) get an insight into good old office life!

There is an add running at the moment on TV which mentions one (the pilot of a passenger aircraft takes his daughter in) - but I can't remember which charity it's for - I'll keep my eyes peeled and post again if I see it again

The ad is for Children in Need.

There is a National Take Your Daughter to Work Day, I don't know the date though. I think its supposed to be designed to get girls to look at a wider range of career options or something.

I don't know if this is the same one but the Girl Guiding group are running a Take Your Daughter to Work campaign on 18th March 2004. Did a search and that is what came up.

It is here

Thanks for the responses!
Dinosaur - a bit worried about your story especially after reading a Horrid Henry story to my two this week (where his parents were arguing over who had to take Horrid Henry to work because of the mayhem they thought he would cause!)

My office is at the top of our house! I spend much of my time trying to convince dd1 (on our days off, or maternity leave like now) that it's really boring and she doesn't want to go in there and wreak havoc!

Dinosaur, what a good idea. I am working Xmas eve but my dh will be at home with my boys (5 and 2). Think I'll get him to bring them up to see Mummy surfing Mumsnet in the office
And that way I can get a lift home too
