saw a gorgeous dog the other day - it's called a dutch barge dog - he was beautiful. They are sort of medium small size and fluffy.

Want.

have no idea what they are like with children etc, but I fell in love in an instant.

One of our neighbours has a Westie - I once smiled at it and it went for me because I'd looked it in the eye .

Scotties bite (I have the scars )

Cairns have a nicer temperament than either. They're all small terriers though and they all yap.

How about having a look round a rescue home - friends got a dog from one and were able to do it on a trial basis in case dog and children did not gel. It was fine and they all lived happily ever after.

General Character And Temperament

These are lively, happy little dogs who adore family life and, as such, make ideal children's pets. They love to accompany the family on all outings but can be left alone occasionally. They socialise well and are fine in the company of other dogs and pets in the household.

Hmm, the one I saw didn't show it's backside. I would imagine they need a lot of grooming anyway.

I shall get one for my retirement.
