Ok.... this morning Mr Postman gave us a letter
adresssed to someone else. Only similarity is they live at the same number house as us in the same town (his road a LONG way away tho)...
Its his Barclay Card statement!

Ive written him a note on the enevelope informing him that WE got it first (cause i feel the recipient has a right to know!)

Is there anything else i can do?

Im just so cross that such important confidential documents can be delivered to the wrong house... to think what we could do with that information

Can i complain, if so who to.... or do i just put it back in the post box (with my message already clearly written on the back of the envelope!)

i would post it off to him with the message on the front and then if he wants to complain he can.

i have just closed all my accounts with natwest because a year after i moved they are still sending stuff to my old house (including my new switch card!). i have informed them 3 times, got sick of it in the end, its the second time they have done it.

If you saw the undercover documentary on the royal mail last year you would use the postal service as little as possible

I don't think it's as bad as it's said to be, the only quibble i have is that they don't always put a note through the letterbox when they fail to deliver an item because there is no one in..there will be mistakes occasionally but mostly i find them very reliable

I think you are rigth Zippitie toes but how would you feel if YOUR barclay card statemnt was delivered to someone else...

given that one of their online security questions is balance at last bill?

I agree there is a potential for security problems and a bank directing mail negligently to the wrong address is totally reprehensible, but there will be human errors some of the time..fortunately most recipients of wrongly delivered mail probably don't become opportunist fraudsters..I hope

Anything interesting in there?

Seriously, just put it back in the post.

My regular complaint to the post office is the fact that the delivery chap will often put a note through saying he couldn't deliver a parcel because no one is in when I am standing in the hall waiting for him to ring the bell. They've done it 3 times.

I suspect they think they might get attacked by the dog who sounds terribly ferocious and definitely has a thing about postmen, but do they seriously think that I would let the dog attack them whilst taking delivery of a parcel??

Collecting the parcel is a right royal pain because I have to go into town to do so, there is limited parking and the service is pretty slow when you do get into the office. In fact, I've just torn a strip of a chap who nipped into a parking space I was actually reversing into having waited for 10 minutes. Poor chap was totally stunned and actually moved his car! Great entertainment for the post office staff too I shouldn't wonder.

Having worked as an Avon Lady for 2 1/2yrs - then I'd say yes - I had one woman who owned 2 enormous German Shepherds (I think they were) and not only did they bark very loudly they jumped up at me too - I eventually had to aske her to shut the dogs in the living room when I called as they kept jumping up and "snapping" around my bump.

Another little dog also did actually nip me on the ankles - despite the owner assuring me I'd be fine (never went back there).

And my brother was a postie for 7yrs - he had someone try and set his dogs on him when delivering mail (to the person that lived there )

My regular postie is fine with the dog. He knows we have taken great steps to stop the dog interfering with the post - we have a wooden box on the inside of the door, so the dog can't get at the post (or the postie's fingers). When answering the door to the postman, I always shut the dog in the living room.
