I've never used ebay beofre but do people really send you stuff if you bid 99p and you just pay postage? It seems odd to me

What do you mean? if you win the auction at 99p and then you just pay the postage towards it too?

compo · 03/11/2005 21:01

Yes, like if it was something really big would the person still just sell it for 99p + postage just cos no one else had bid? Seems like an awful lot of trouble to me

yes, that is the way it works. people put low starting bids cos it attracts more people and it costs less to list them. you often find that bidding goes mad in the last few seconds and the price shoots up

wow it seems an awful lot of effort to go and post soemthign and only get 99p. Do they have to stick to selling it or can they back out? I am an ebay virgin

I recently sold a gorgeous bundle of 0-3 month baby clothes for 99p + postage. Someone got a real bargain there!

misdee · 03/11/2005 21:46

same here roobie. i sold several bundles, the most one went for was 2pounds, the rest went for 99p.

Since then I tend to use the BIN option (Buy It Now). Sold a 36 month Grobag for £5 + postage within 1 hour of listing which I was pretty pleased with.

nit surprised rooby, you could've got more for it lol. grobags go for a lot on ebay.
