Congratulations, Toothache! Moving is soooo nervewracking, you deserve more than one drink!

LadyTophamHatt · 02/11/2005 19:29

Wooohooo, I love the way it's done up there in scotland. So much better than all the agro down here.
Hope the move goes smoothly.

We're signing contracts tomorrow and I'm soooo desparate to get it signed so that no-one can pull out. I might camp out on the solicitors door step in the morning

seb1 · 02/11/2005 19:59

I want a special invite to the housewarming after all my hard work house hunting

seb1 · 02/11/2005 20:04

Is this Toothy's new house?

Toothy's palace

Toothache · 03/11/2005 09:18

THAT'S IT!

sweetkitty · 03/11/2005 09:38

Had to have a nosey - it looks lovely! Bet you can't wait to move!

Toothache · 03/11/2005 09:47

You are not going to BELIEEEEEEEEVE the phone call I've just had!!!!!!!

The original house that I went to look at (next door) to the one I've offered on. Which we lost out on......

..... id back on the market coz the people that put an offer in can't sign the missives yet as their mortgage isn't finalised!!!!! The Solicitor just phoned and asked if I wanted to make an offer!!!!

WHICH MEANS I COULD HAVE GOT IT FOR ABOUT £140k!

Ho hum.... don't care..... the one I'm buying has an alarm system..... and a nicer kitchen.

well serves them right for not accepting your offer!

We looked at 2 houses in this road and we ended up with the better one too, have to pass the other one every day!

Toothache · 03/11/2005 10:15

So.... if anyone wants to take advantage of this blokes desperate situation and offer him £135k.... then he will accept as long as you sign the missives pronto!! He's had to get a bridging loan coz he moved into his new house on 28th Oct!!!

You never know, it might survey up at more!

My friend was selling her flat and had left the keys with the solicitor while she was on holiday. There were undies and all sorts lying about. The guy who bought the house (early 20's) said that's what clinched it for him, it seemed like a party house!

Toothache · 10/11/2005 10:17

Well both surveys have been done and are fine! So the offers are official.

I'm really pleased, but at the same time I'm feeling totally overwhelmed with everything. I don't know whether I'm just hormonal or if all the excitment has caught up with me.

We were in Dublin at the weekend, drove to Liverpool dropped off the kids at IL's.... flew to Dublin the next day for 2 nights..... flew back on Monday, drove back up on Tuesday, back to work yesterday..... and the whole weekend all I could do was worry about everything. I haven't slept properly for 4 nights now!

Beginning to wonder why I'm doing this..... and whether its really worth all the worry. Christmas is coming too and I haven't even thought about presents..... just worried about the time off work I'll have to take and the money I lose because of it.

Please some help me see the positive side here. I'm totally drowning in the pressure and DH can't/won't help as everything is in my name. I've cried for 3 days on and off now. Its ridiculous..... I should be happy and excited, but I'm just full of dread and want to bury my head in the sand.

This is why

Toothache · 10/11/2005 10:28

Thanks Sherlock. I put that photo on the screensaver of my mobile, but had to change it yesterday coz everytime I looked at my phone I felt sick and started worrying again!

Whats wrong with me?

OP posts:
iota · 10/11/2005 10:30

it's stress Toothy -- it's a wll-known fact that moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do.

LadySherlockofLGJ · 10/11/2005 10:31

You are moving house, it is a very stressful time, moreso when the financial responsibility lies solely with you. But IIRC that is the best way for it to be.

How was Dublin ??? I hope you waved to my Mummy

Toothache · 10/11/2005 10:32

Iota - How can I deal with it though? I'm a snivveling wreck 90% of the time! Nearly cried at work this morning when some one emailed me asking for stuff. I'm barely keeping my head above water.

OP posts:
Toothache · 10/11/2005 10:33

LGJ - It was bloody expensive! 8 Euro for Gin & Tonic!!!

Beautiful city though.

oh dear just been googling it one suggestion is to avoid other major stress factors like staring a new job - -that's no help is it ?

Springchicken · 10/11/2005 10:39

Lovely house Toothy, well done you

I have moved into and out of both of my houses close to Xmas and it is a complete nightmare, the stress is horrible. We moved into our first house 28th Nov, moved out of it 21st December (stayed at parents for 4 weeks) then moved into new house 27th January. We do not pick good timing ad now our house is up for sale.
Glutton for punishment or what .

Sure everything will be absolutely fine - just remember what is at the end of it all.

Toothache · 10/11/2005 10:48

Thanks folks.

My job has been quite easy so far, but has suddenly become really busy and demanding!

Must get off MN.
