hi sorry to buzz in on your thread but i would like to give a bit of advice i'm a power seller on ebay,i think where a lot of people go wrong, is in there description bar, look at the item you want to sell now imagine you are looking to buy that particular item , what would you type in the search bar to find that item? for instance i sell perfume and aftershave my description would be: dolce vita by christian dior 50ml edp perfume that then covers anyone typing in the word dolce vita, some one else typing in the word perfume, and anyone that might just type in dior. always leave a gap after each word if you don't it won't come up when someone types in a word, for example if i was looking for gameboy advance sp and you had in your description bar game boy advancesp it would not come up in items found. try not to put in punctuation marks example: next, size 12,long sleeve jumper your item would not come up when someone typed in next because the comma now makes it a mis-spelled word as with the size it is not recognised as size 12 but size 12, which no one would type in, always check your spelling if it is spelt wrong it won't come up. as an example i went on a misspelled ebay item site and some one was selling chanel sun glasses , in the picture the word chanel was plastered over the case but the seller spelt it channal so not many people found her item due to that simple mistake, don't get me wrong i am a terrible speller, but i always take great care when listing my items, one thing i have noticed with ebay if you have a quality item for sell people are prepared to pay good money and they seem to know there worth and most of the bidding is done last minute i put every thing on my watch list then bid (if i'm in) in the last few minutes if you bid too early you force the price up. listing times are very important as other people have said below if you are home all day don't list between 2.30- 3.30 because your item will finish at that time and most mums will be on the school run and the dads will be at work.i always list at weekends for 7 days between 5.30- 7-30 for two weeks then i list mon or tue between 10am and 2pm for 2 weeks i find that way i target a wider range of people the mums 10 -2 and the workers at weekends. well i hope i haven't bored you all too much hope it's been of some help.

perfumelady is dead right about mis-spelling, DS2 got a bargain Abercrombie & Fitch top once because the seller put Abrecombie & Finch! (ebay can't interpret the way google can)

I also do the very-last-minute bidding - paid way over the odds once because DS2 was nagging me to bid in the last 10 minutes or so, and somebody else was watching. Now I do 2 windows open, one to watch and one with high bid poised to go with about 20 seconds left.
