Need an anniversary present for dh that I can buy today(!). Usually I get him some music related gadget that he's after, but he really does seem to have almost everything that he wants.

I've bought him loads of shirts. Gave him a cashmere scarf last year. Gloves? Seems a bit odd for a present...

Help!

what about a days wine tasting in London at Vinopolis. The 2 of you can go, become wine buffs & then have a nice meal somewhere ? Then you have a nice memory rather than something material he might not appreciate ?

aloha · 21/10/2005 11:01

Take him out for dinner - it can be your present to each other. Much nicer than gloves!

SPARKLER1 · 21/10/2005 11:03

How long have you been married?

Could you get something linked to your relevant year?

ladymuck · 21/10/2005 11:12

Well I took him to Whatley Manor last weekend, so in some respects I feel that I've done my "bit". We were going out tonight but dh has had a long week and is flying to Asia tomorrow for a week so we're having dinner in instead (champagne is chillig in the fridge!). Perhaps I'll just try to find a book for the flight or something. Just he has splashed out on some diamond earrings, and now a bouquet has just turned up (the thoughtful man even got one in a vase, so I don't have to do anything to it!).

It's our 10th anniversary. I need to come up with something mushy for the card as well. I love it that he has gone to the effort to buy me something (esp as he has been so busy), so would like to get him a small something...

ladymuck! what a lovely dh! we had out 10th recently and agreed to buy each other, erm, nothing. But we did have a big party at a restaurant. Bit naff to some people's minds but how about a framed photo of the whole family? Can you rustle that up in a day. If not buy a nice frame and get your little ones to do a temporary drawing of you all in lieu of photo to be put in at a future date? Alterntatively you could get him a balloon ride (which would almost certainly involve nothing more strenous than a bit of tapping on the computer.) or something else to do. I got dh a day's cookery class at Prue Leith'c for Christmas last year, which he really liked.

ladymuck · 21/10/2005 11:30

The cookery course sounds good. Dh did an evening one as a team-building at work, and loved it (and he learnt how to chop an onion!). That sounds just the ticket! (Especially if it is a Saturday one and he can bring home the results!)

if you are feeling really creative and if you have time and some old photos lying around you could do what I planned to do but didn't - put together a very small photo album (Paper Chase have some really nice ones)of the last 10 years. Just 10 photos or so of the some lovely memories - one of the wedding day and one of each of your little ones (not sure how many you have) and you're half way there.

hatstand · 21/10/2005 11:32

at Prue Leith's you get to eat the results while you're there. maybe you could both go

expatinscotland · 21/10/2005 11:38

Concert tickets? Season tickets for concerts, for example.

ladymuck · 21/10/2005 11:38

Like the album idea too - and the ds's would love that, so they can help after school (as I'll be amazed if dh gets home at a reasonable time - sigh - he's almost the perfect man!). The boys will be polishing dh's shoes as well!

do you have any soppy momentoes you could put in the album? tickets from a particularly memorable event? could dss draw something for it? ooo I'm excited on your behalf.

3PRINCESSES · 21/10/2005 11:59

For our last anniversary (or was it Valentine's Day? Can't remember) I didn't get round to buying a card, so wrote a message on my body... Not easy, as writing had to be done back to front, but set a suitably romantic tone for the evening!

(The dd's thought I was barking btw. But dh liked it.)

slug · 21/10/2005 14:48

How about a year's membership to something. I bought dh a membership to the National Film Theatre, which went down a treat, and I'm considering a Tate Modern one for this year.

Norma2Mates · 21/10/2005 14:52

Get him a subscription to a magazine. Look at this and then go out and get the latest copy to give him straight away. The subscription takes a month to set up I think.

Norma2Mates · 21/10/2005 14:53

Bugger it doesn't work, try this

iota · 21/10/2005 14:55

has he got a Bose Wave radio?

iota · 21/10/2005 14:59

jenkel · 21/10/2005 16:00

I have a dh who also fits the title of the man who has everything.

Here are some past presents I've bought him

Original ipod
ipod Nano
Tom Tom Sat Nav
The new handheld Playstation, cant remember the name of it
Archos PDA thing, plays shows which you can download direct from the tv, + music, + videos, + normal pda functions
Bose Clock Radio

Well, there is a few ideas, now if anybody has any ideas for christmas please let me know

ladymuck · 22/10/2005 18:35

Thanks guys. In the end I went for the photo album which was well received. And now I have some more ideas for Christmas (should there be no new music gadgets out there!)
