I have a very special occassion approaching and at a size 18-20 I am at a loss having trailed the city streets and come up with nothing! I want to look grown up and I want to feel attractive ... any suggestions greatly appreciated either on line or not. Thanks.

Winnie - "Ghost" is your salvation. Their large size should comfortably fit you and their clothes are flattering, unusual and sexy. Liberty and Selfridges have a good selection and they also have a number of stand alone stores. Just make sure you keep and open mind and try lots on as sometimes they look unappealing on the hanger.

Nowt worse than looking like a Mobile Tent is there, or looking like a weeble version of Demis Rousos!. I usually buy in 1647 at Evans, but have discovered Maria Donatti, you can find her on the web to order a catalogue and the stuff is good.

Here goes, found the address www.mariadonati.co.uk
The catalogue gives tips on what clothes to wear if you are top heavy, bum is big, humungous boobies etc. Good luck

Dorothy Perkin's maternity range goes up to a generous size 20, but they tend to be a bit casual. Your best bet is Ghost. Despite being a size 18-20, I got married in a black see through ghost dress, 7 months pregnant, with more frontage on show than was strictly necessary... and I felt GORGEOUS. The wonderful thing about them is that they stretch, especially if you iron them, so they are good all through pregnancy, then you just wash them and they shrink back again so you can wear them afterwards. Yes they are a bit expensive - the lower end of designer - but think of it as an investment. There's a website somewhere, but I agree with Croppy, you just have to try them on with an open mind.

Try Anna Scoltz diffusion range at Debenhams too - they are lovely!
