Said the mum to her son in the playground today!

Ive never heard anything like it. Dont normally blatantly criticise someone elses parenting skills but honestly, this woman took the biscuit today.

"DONT put your hands in your mouth A, they are dirty and have germs. I have told you about germs havent i" she said as she wiped the small football with a wet wipe before putting it back down on the ground to play with for the 5th time.

"Stop whining A, none of the other children in the playground are whining, why arent you having fun. We came here to have fun. Not to whine". I muttered that perhaps its because you havent stopped whining since you got here. Think one of the other mums heard me - oops!

"Dont keep kicking the ball over there A, i have to keep running to get it it"

"Dont keep jumping up and down on the climbing frame A you might fall off"

"Hurry up and get down, im not having fun A"

"Lets do another thing now A, this isnt fun"

"STOP whining A, if your dad was here he would take you home and smack you"

"I brought you to the park to have fun, why arent you having fun A".

Are you surprised he wasnt having fun? I always try not to judge because you never know the background, but..... Seriously, he seemed like a normal 4 year old to me and she was there with her mum (Im guessing her mum), insisting this boy had fun because she took him to the park but didnt stop nagging the poor sod!

Sounds like a Little Britain sketch. Poor kid.

Mytwopenceworth · 11/10/2005 23:03

sounds like she was having a bad day!

poor little bugger, fun to order! That's like saying what shall we talk about? Guaranteed awkward silence!! you must have fun = truly dull time!!

edam · 11/10/2005 23:04

Almost as if she never had fun herself as a child so has no idea how to let her son play - maybe she was brought up in a very strict religion or something where you had to study every night and never went to the park?

QueenVictoria · 11/10/2005 23:06

ooh. Dare i be really judgemental and tell you what i think of her by how she was dressed and her accessories?

Methinks she hasnt grown up herself and thinks she is entitled to all the fun with her too tight clothes, huge jewellry, constant mobile phone chatting, huge sunglasses. Couldnt understand half the conversation with her mum, think she was greek, but her mum didnt seem particularly uptight to me to indicate she had tough childhood.

Just my opinion though..........

LOL QV, I've had wine tonight so am happy to plunge straight in, bet she had thong on that was visible when she bent down, although I'm surprised she was having a mobile phone 'conversation', why not just text?

Particuarly LOL at taking the wet wipe to the football!

I agree she seemed a bit loopy.

QueenVictoria · 11/10/2005 23:48

Oh god - i didnt look in that direction tbh! But probably yeah!

Did snigger when she kept wanting to put sunglasses on the poor child as well!

I should get very drunk on wine one night and post on MN - it must give an interesting viewpoint from the norm!

LOL!

If you see her again, ask her to bend over!

Posting on MN after wine is the best! It's the next day when you click on "threads I'm on" that you get the fright.

QueenVictoria · 12/10/2005 00:00

no chance

Might ask her why she isnt having fun though

Will have to test this wine thing out soon.......
