Post C Section advice

Just wanted to know if my scar will ever disappear and that bit of belly that sits stubbornly above it will go away or at least reduce. dd is 6 months old and although I have lost 2 stone I still have over a stone and half left to lose. Think I have come to a grinding halt with the weight loss as I dont see any improvement in the belly/scar. I have been walking mostly for exercise and am now doing yoga once a week.

Any recommendations for getting rid of belly and scar?

Hermykne - did you do anything special or did it just go gradually?

It's never going to dissapear but do your best to keep it moisturised and find a toning excersise that suits you.

outweigh , went to bed, sorry!
no i didnt do anything but i did get food posiioning on hols for about 3/4 days and my stomach shrank. i said to my sis if they could invent a pill that gave u F/P to lose weight it'd be great.
i walk nearly every day 30/40mins.

saying all that i have to watch my tummy - last week practically ate all dd's birthday cake.

Must admit that my scar is virtually invisible now but I think I'm just lucky. I have seen some silicone pads you can wear over a scar to reduce the redness and puffiness and I've heard they're very good. I saw them at Boots.

I'm having a second cesaren in three weeks and have lined up some postnatal pilates classes to help get rid of the tum afterwards. I've heard that they're very good.

Pilates is the business for this, I think. I did it when on mat leave after my second c/section in under 2 years, and ended up with better stomach definition than before I got pregnant (there is still a good upholstering of fat there, just in case anyone thinks I am flaunting a toned stomach - but I would say thanks to pilates it looks more like a well-lagged boiler than a white bin bag full of jelly).

Another advantage of pilates is that you get to do quite a lot of it lying down! Result!

Thanks all

Anchovy you made me laugh as the description of a white bin bag full of jelly is soooo accurate for me. Well I will take all the advice given (not keen on getting food poisoning though - I'm going to stick with my Yoga and see if that helps and if not switch to Pilates or a combination of both.

Off to Boots now to see if they have any pad thingies.
