Eternity rings - when is the traditional time to give them?

I just wondered when eternity rings are given. I'd really like one and it's my wedding anniversay next week. But I'm not sure if there is a particular time or event associated with the giving of them. Anyone know?

Sigh....

Are they over london bobsmum?

Just wanted to boast that the jewellers called to say my ring is ready and I should be able to flash it around this afternoon at our meet-up.

I know now what is the traditional time to give - it must be when the nagging gets too much to bear.

This thread has tempted me to DEMAND a ring for myself but as I'm a fussy cow wondered if anyone could recommend a jewellry designer in the London/Sth East area.
Have told dh I do want something when I deliver this bub, more than a bunch of carnations anyway.
Congrats on the bling bling Janstar, I love them when they're all shiny new

Grrr- Janstar - am v tempted to bring digi camera to prove to dh that this thread is genuine. He thinks it's all a scam to squeeze more money out of him. Oh well....there is an Argos next door to Borders...I could always threaten him with a nice shiny Elizabeth Duke number. Mmmmmmm. Maybe the shame, would make him plump for the real thing. But for the answer to that, I refer you to my previous post. Sob.

well my Dh must be very generous.
I had a lovely eternity ring when DS was born (no prompting)
& then I got a lovely ring for my 30th on weds. a sapphire as this is my birthstone.
