Well..i only have a very small client list (2 people!) i wouldn't say you could live off it, but i enjoy doing it and it does give me some extra that i feel i've earnt. If i did have a larger client list, which i would do if i could drive and deliver items back, i think it could be good yeah.

Ironing shirts??

shudder

BlackCat82 · 05/10/2005 12:52

Ks, i always do sleeves first, then the body of the shirt then the coller, i'm getting faster and it probably takes me about...10 minutes-ish to do a shirt (i'm a novice tho )

auntymandy · 05/10/2005 12:55

I get quite a lot done in an hour so would an hourly rate be best for me?
I can do one of those plastic log bucket things,

I only iron on the night before they go back to school
use the drier to get creases out
Hate ironing
original question No I wouldnt pay anyone

Bozza · 05/10/2005 13:28

ks I do it exactly the same way and so does DH because I taught him! Would prefer to have a cleaner than an ironer. I just iron while watching Coronation Street then leave whatever I haven't managed to finish for DH to do. Quite often there's nothing left because I keep up to it.

auntymandy · 05/10/2005 13:32

So should i take up ironing to help out with finances?

helloween · 05/10/2005 13:41

I would and I have and I wish I still could, and I paid about 23 quid for a full black bag.

Milge · 05/10/2005 13:41

My cleaner stays on for an extra hour( £7) after to do dh's work shirts, because he says i'm crap at them, he is "too busy" and our cleaner misses ironing shirts for her husband now she is divorced, so its win win. She also does bedlinen i think, pro bono, as she hates seeing crumpled sheets on beds . I do the rest infront of the soaps once a week and i don't find it too bad.

maybe I will put an advert in local shop and see what happens!
