does anyone else rely on dh salary to include commission/bonus?

My dh has started a new job with a basic of just £14500.00. However, he has commision and bonus each month depending on how many people he finds work. For example if he refers someone for a job of e.g. 25k he will get 12% of that. Obviously this would bump his take home wage wuite a bit depending on what he does each month.

My question is - does anyone (especially SAHM) just have this sort of income to live on? I am wanting to reduce my hours again but not sure if to rely on commision and bonus is enough. I earn quite a bit more full time.

Both myself and DP rely on our bonus's. We get ours annually. We use them to pay for holidays and car - ie one off purchases. DP is in sales so he can estimate during the year how much he will eventually get.

I worked in recruitment and started on a similar salary, which went up as I progressed. The commission also paid for holidays/our wedding/home improvements etc in lump sums and in the company I worked for our basic salary (and targets unfortunately) went up when we had met certain fee levels.
I'd say give it a few months, you can soon work out how much you can reliably guarntee each month (also takes a few months for the money to roll in)
