LadyTH, I wish! This is only our second international move. It's Moondog who's lived absolutely everywhere, lucky thing. We move around because dh is in the oil business - it's funny how oil is never discovered in places like Venice or San Francisco or Sydney!

Flum · 27/09/2005 22:52

Be a better friend

Buy a house

Have more parties and people over and stuff

Keep marriage on even keel

moondog · 27/09/2005 22:57

Where are you going suedonim?

Nigeria??

suedonim · 27/09/2005 23:04

Yes, Lagos. Dh is there already. Have you lived there, MD?

moondog · 27/09/2005 23:40

No I haven't (although am an African as born in Zambia!)I'd like to though!
Sure you'll have a lovely comfy expat lifestyle!
How long will you be there? Will you work?
What about schools?

LadyTophamHatt · 28/09/2005 09:39

Ohhhh, who was it that was in jakarta then......I'm sure it was you.

Are you absolutley sure it wasn't?

Toothache · 28/09/2005 09:42

By 2008 I hope to be:

Living in a nice 4 bedroomed house
Studying to be a Midwife
A Mother of 3!
In a happy healthy marriage
RICH!

There.... not much to ask really.

Oops!

suedonim · 28/09/2005 13:59

Sorry for the confusion, LadyTH - I meant yes, we were in Jakarta but no, I hadn't lived all over the place.

Moondog, we'll be there to Mar '07 to begin with, but the job will likely stretch out into the future beyound that. Schooling will be a hurdle we need to get over as the schools are all oversubscribed anbd we're pretty low on their list of who warrants admittance. I'll probably do voluntary work, as I did in Jakarta. Btw, my best friend lived in Zambia and had her first child there!

LadyTophamHatt · 28/09/2005 14:02

LOL....I've been wracking my brains all morning trying to remember who it was.

it doesn't take mush to confuse me...as you can see!

I'm still impressed

LadyTophamHatt · 28/09/2005 14:03

mush???

is mush confusing???

I mean much....

Fio2 · 28/09/2005 14:07

Im with Cam
and finish the house to a reputable state

PeachyClair · 28/09/2005 14:36

Qualified as a Teacher (but it'll be only just)

Not panicking every time I see a new bill come in

Still slim (just lost weight)

That'll do! (My life is pretty good besides the cash flow tbh)

Issymum

expatinscotland · 28/09/2005 15:03

Oh, Issymum! My dad is a retired petroleum engineer who spent 34 years working for Royal Dutch Shell. My, did we live in some wonderful 'locales'. My earliest memory is waving bye to him as he walked down what seemed like an endless airport terminal. Destination: Alaska, no less!

There was Panama, Venezuela, Columbia and Angola. Singapore, New Orleans, and we always had a house in Houston.

After I was at uni, there was Saudi and - of course I missed out on this one - The Hague.

expatinscotland · 28/09/2005 15:04

He also did a stint in Brasil, but we weren't allowed to go w/him on that - kidnapping risk too high.

suedonim · 28/09/2005 20:58

Lol, LadyTH! After four children my brain is permanent mush!

Issymum/Expat, we've managed to avoid Vietnam, Korea, Baku and Sakholin. The one we realy, really wanted, Perth WA, was cancelled 10 days before dh was due to start, grrrr!

Smurfgirl · 28/09/2005 21:18

Hopefully be a qualified nurse and engaged oh and own a car. Owning a car is a big dream.

weesaidie · 28/09/2005 21:26

Ideally?

Top my class in third year of uni.
With a lovely man in an equal relationship.

Realistically?

Still at uni.
Getting some sex now and then.

WideWebWitch · 28/09/2005 21:29

2006
Get a job nearer home. Get married to dp after 5 years or something ridiculous of being engaged.
Lose weight. Dd will be 3, ds 9
Have botox, teeth whitened and wardrobe makeover

2007
Having paid off debt, buy a house

2008
Start our own business. dd will go to school, ds will be omg, 11

2009
Get an incredible offer for it and retire.

Oh I've done a year too long, sorry!

weesaidie · 28/09/2005 21:31
