Mother and Baby parking slots when did you stop?

As I was getting the children into the car on the way back from Tesco's a thought occured to me. When should you stop using them? I know that Tescos say 5. Dd is 6 and ds is 3, but they can now both get into and out of the car on their own, and I only have to do up the seat belt. This is a long way from the difficulties of, say, a parent with a toddler and a baby in a first stage car seat. So the question is, when should you stop using a parent and child car parking slot, and when did you stop?

I dont object to disabled people using the M&T parking bays, particularly if the disabled ones are full up.

if all disabled ones were full...i probably wouldn't mind either, but when he'd driven past numerous disabled bays that i chose not to park in....that i object to!

Quite right Angeliz

Try having a disabled toddler like me. I am perfectly entitled to park in the disabled bays as we have 'stickers' but how many people are always dying to direct me to my space in the mother and toddler section.

Sorry - feel better now that's off my chest

Mabs, I always feel the glares of pensioners as we park with ds in the disabled spaces. I make sure the blue badge is waved around where they can see it before they wander off to disapprove! Having his Major seat with inserts helps now though, it looks like a disabled chair iyswim.

Did anyone see Loose Women the other lunchtime? Think it was Tues - had that woman called Carol something (used to be married to Chris Evans I think), going on about the mum and baby parking spaces. she has no kids, but says she always uses them - her argument is why should she be 'penalised' just because she has chosen not to have kids(?!) Besides, she notes the mum and baby spaces are always empty. Really? Love to know where she shops - invariably those around here are ALWAYS full

Oooh, I'd like to 'penalise' her with a smack in the face!! I'd like to see her have to cross an icy car park carrying a 3 week old in a car seat after she had a C section (this happened to me with ds because some antisocial S had parked in the M & T slots)

My DS's are 4, and there is no problem getting them in and out of the car, except that we need the room on both sides of the car, to be able to do up their belts.
I don't park in parent spaces anymore, but DH does if he's driveing, which always makes me feel a bit of a fraud, when I remember how difficult it was trying to get two babies out of the car.
