I know, I know, I shouldn't moan. But dd will insist on leaving all her homework until the last moment and then has a mad panic as most of it has been left at school!!!

ARGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

She then wants me to write her a note to get her out of the jam she has got herself into (despite my repeated advice). I refuse .....Cue mega melt down

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

I do love her I do, I do, but by damn she is hard graft sometimes!

is it better or worse if you're a teacher..

maybe she only works under pressure

SoupDragon · 13/09/2005 18:14

So, did you always do your homeork immediately?

happymerryberries · 13/09/2005 18:15

She is eight.

It is worse that I am a teacher. On top of bad mummy guilt I've got bad teacher guilt as well.

I asked her to do it on Wednesday, Thursday and over the weekend. I even asked her to do it yesterday, but she airily fobbed me off. So she can take the fall tomorrow, I'm afraid.

DS1 has just started secondary school and is now in full "masses of homework" mode. I've tried convincing him that doing it as soon as he gets it, even if it doesn't have to be handed in for 4 days, is the best way to proceed, but it doesn't always work. It's not helped by the fact that his two younger brothers are messing around downstairs shrieking with laughter at the television or other things, just rubbing it in that they are having fun and he is working.

I have started off by checking his homework diary every day to see what he has to do and then insisting that everything that can be done today is done. Hopefully he'll get the message and it will then become automatic. Dreeeaaaammmmm.......

SD, yes I did! I was your basic god awful swot!

I don't mind if she doesn't do it and takes it stoicaly tbh.
It is the 'I can't be arsed to do it and OMG now I am going to be in trouble, you sort it WWWWAAAAHHHHH' That I can't stand!
