Anyone heard of Seacrest-HR - working from home job opportunities

Hi, was wondering if anyone has heard of Seacrest-HR. I received a advert from them inviting people to apply for part time admin support job working from home. They offer between 4-8 hours, the maximum you could earn would be about £200.00 so it definitely isn't a get rich quick scheme or anything like that. They claim to be a fast growing wholesale supplies company supplying businesses with quality industrial cleaning and laundry products. The job would be to process orders using your own computer. There is an address given in London with 2 telephone numbers one of which is an 0870 number - is that a premium rate number? Or you can return a tear off slip and they will send a free application pack.

Anyone else received this offer. I am very sceptical but would love to be proved wrong, as this amount of hours and reasonable pay would be a great income top up.

I've checked to see if they have a website - apparently it is under construction.

Would really appreciate any feedback on this.

never heard of them but 0870 is national rate, not premium rate. as long as you dont have to pay anything upfront to join them i cant see a problem with applying

Thanks Gigglinggoblin, have tried to phone but just got recorded message saying to leave details if you want an application form. Think I might give it a go and see what happens. If they ask for any money I'll know it's a scam.

Hmm, I've had a dig and can't find anything truly indicative - lots of other people trying to find out if this is a scam, essentially. But the address given: 176 finchley road, is a mailbox company. So it is not really an indicator that this is a real company, IYSWIM.

Two possible explanations:

"Two purposes for using you could be

  1. Money laundering purposes, leaving you as the fall guy if anything goes wrong.

  2. Cheques are sent to you, supposedly from clients, you bank them in your bank account and forward money to your contact. Some time later the cheques are found to be stolen or forged and the bank cancels the credit that was paid into your account leaving you owing the bank the money. The fact that the cheques may have cleared in your account doesn't stop the bank cancelling them later."

What is their website? Is it seacresthr.com? I can do a dig from there, too ... (yes, I know it's under construction, but one can still get info)

Thanks NotQuiteCockney, it does seem a bit too good to be true doesn't it. This sort of thing really p*ses me off - all I (and probably thousands and thousands of other mums) want is to earn a bit of extra cash, quite prepared to work hard for it but so many tossers out there prepared to try to rip you off - makes me mad...there rant over.
