Moving to Ilkley - Advice please

Can anybody tell me what it is like living in Ilkley with a young family? We are considering moving from London and found a discussion here comparing Ilkley and Harrogate and everyone advised Harrogate as the better option - are there any Ilkley supporters out there? How would we be accepted? (my husband is from the North but I am a southern girl) We are more drawn to Ilkley having looked at Harrogate but I was surprised that all the comments were in favour of Harrogate. Thanks in advance.

I used to live in Guiseley which is about halfway between Ilkley and Leeds. It is a nice area and has good rail links to Leeds and Bradford. I prefer Ilkley to Harrogate as it is smaller and nearer to the countryside. I also have friends in Menston and Otley, both places that are nice to live in. Also you are fairly near to Leeds/Bradford airport.

Lingle - am panicking now - do you mean Bolling Road people won't accept us unless we go to BR Primary? Am worried for kids now, please reassure me that it's not really like that, could people really be unfriendly on basis of school choice?? Where we live now no-one goes to the same school so it doesn't matter, but maybe that is exactly the sort of info I need for a smaller community?? Help! am stressing enough about this move, and want trauma for small ones to be minimised, but we are Catholic so Sacred Heart obvious choice for us.
