i filled in a survey on shopping habits on our local high street a couple of weeks ago and now got a phonecall saying i've won a holiday in europe. they told me to phone a number to a travel agent (DVC travel) and give a ticketcode. i did, but it all sounded too good to be true and was told a booking fee would be payable. i rang my MIL and she said both her and my SIL also did the survey and won a holiday. i was stupid enough to actually ring the number. just want to tell you to beware of this. it doesn't seem at all genuine.

its true...

if you realy have WON you wont have to pay ANYTHING!!!

QueenOfQuotes · 04/09/2005 13:12

(unless of cousre when you entered the T&C's said that you had to pay for flights/accomdation etc)

QueenOfQuotes · 04/09/2005 13:13

oh and if you've really won - then you shouldn't have to call someone/where else to 'claim' either - they should send you a letter in the post to tell you what you need to do to confirm your win.

I have won but never bothered to take them up on it. But loads of my family have won and it is genuine. Sometimes you might have to fly from an airport miles away or you might have to sit through a boring time travel presentation but if you can hack that you have a free holiday!

Windermere · 04/09/2005 13:45

Sorry was supposed to say time share not time travel. Now that might be worth sitting through if they have worked that one out!

QueenOfQuotes · 04/09/2005 13:46

No I'm talking GENUINE holidays wins - no boring presenations to go to with people trying to flog you time share. I wouldn't touch those with a barge pole.

I know a few people who've been on some REALLY fancy holidays which they've won, and been able to fly from London (if they wanted to fly from elsehwere they had to pay a little extra I think)

MrsSpoon · 04/09/2005 13:49

It is a free holiday I've got friends who have done it and enjoyed it but whilst you are there you will have to endure a time share type presentation that goes on for hours.

We have 'won' in the past but decided not to take them up on it.
