It has just come up on local listings search. I've never heard of it before. Is it just like Beavers/Cubs/Scouts?

Thanks. I'll do some research.

Very football based as well as the Christian element.

DP has mentioned that when he was in Cubs, they referred to the BBs as 'Bubbling Babies'. Think this was simple childish rivalry though, not a true reflection of how much they bubbled.

My last church had a big Boys/Girls Brigade and DH is a graduate of BB. Essentially similar to Scouting but more likely to be run out of a church (frequently Baptist) and a bit more of a Christian element, but family churchgoing wouldn't be expected except parade services.

We've moved now but I liked what I saw. It was well led, well organised, they did tons of badges and activities, proper camping, hiking etc, moving on eventually to Duke of Edinburgh. I liked the way teenagers were moved on to mentoring/leading the younger ones, it really seemed to give them confidence and responsibility instead of being slumped in front of a playstation all day. The leaders were really committed and took it seriously.

We have one and they don't seem to do anything apart from run around like crazy in a hall once a week. No badges, just a lot of Christianity and activity.

We changed to cubs as too much emphasis on religion (we are not religious) and marching.

ds2 goes with a friend from school. It's quite churchy (we're not at all - in fact dh borders on anti-church- but don't mind him being exposed so he can make up his own mind). He loves it. Very traditional really - reminds me of my childhodd iykwim. They play football, do some sewing and crafts (which weirdly ds2 loves), big beach parties in the summer and camping when he gets older.

Last year we went to about 4 church services over the course of the year. I quite liked that weirdly. Sat there wishing I could believe :o
