there is something very appealing about lighthouses isn't there. It's something to do with the shipping forecast and feeling safe I think.

I went up Smeaton's Tower with ds1 two years ago - didn't like it at all right at the top! You feel like you're going to fall off with the leaning out railings that jimjams describes. Dh made me go up 'cos he's scared of heights.
