Any ideas on how to get rid of a double bed?

I have decided to get rid of the double bed in my spare room. The children use it as a dumping ground and it takes up so much room. So I am going to replace it with a Futon.

Anyone know the best way of getting rid. I need someone to physically remove it from the house and dispose of it. Or do you think it might sell in Loot although I couldnt deliver.

You could just stick it in your local paper. I got rid of one a few years ago this way and got £30 for it too. Make sure the advert specifies collection only.

How old is it ? If it is pre-1988 you may have a problem with flammability regulations, assuming a divan or mattress is involved. The council would collect for a fee (ours would charge aorund £25).

Yes, my Mum did the same thing recently. We put it on Ebay buy it now for 1p! Someone drove for an hour to pick it up but we never did get the 1p.
