OK this sounds stupid, but it's 30+ years since I had my ears pierced and.....

DD had her ears pierced 6+ weeks ago. She has now started secondary school and has to take them out for PE, BUT they are extremely tight and even I struggled to get them off. Her ears were gun-pierced.

Should I buy her a new pair of studs - will they be easier to get on and off?

Has she been twisting them? SHe should be turning them round slightly and cleaning them with either shop solution or saly water otherwise the hole squeezes round th stud if that makes sense.

Guns are really good for ear lobes s they can lessen cances of infection etc.

I would keep those studs in (are they gold?) attempt to turn them 15 minutes/90 degrees and give a good wash in very dilute TCP or salt water or the cleaing solution. Maybe get DD to practise getting them in and out a few times with mirror at home as its easy to get he angle wrong and kind of peirce through a different direction...

You can buy new backs that are clear plastic, mega good for sensitive skin and easier to get n and off....
Bets of luck.

Thanks

She has been twisting them and cleaning them, and her ears are fine.

The problem is getting the back off - it is near impossible! Once we get the back off, she can get them in and out OK.

Where would you get new plastic backs from?

you could buy a hundred for a few quid off ebay..... shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m570.l1311&_nkw=plastic+earring+backs&_sacat=See-All-Categories

the backs are often tricky if gold backs. try and get some plastic ones until her ears are completely healed.
