Wouldn't it be easier just to say that you preffer the check issued only for the quantity as it would send you into the next tax band? (it may be a lie but it's a good excuse .

I wouldn't get into it TBH, if he doesn't agree to send you a check (and why the other seller would be bothered to be forwarding cheques???), sell the item to another person. Easy peasy...

Also be aware that people have had their bank accounts raided & identities stolen with less information than she is asking you for! My aunt & uncle had a couple of hundred pounds taken from their account with the use of a postcode, name & expiry date of their debit card!

DON'T DO IT! if something sounds too good to be true it usually is

this is a well known scam... they make you think like you're getting something extra (the £50) but yuou won't end up with anyrhing
