In watching mbing no interest whatsoever. In doing it loads but bit resticted by dd(19 mnths) atm. Do cyccle to work everday but e nearest that comes to mbing is Wimbledon Common tho the hill to get there feels like a mountain as Im not as fit as I used to be.

So where is the World Cup taking place then and when?

hi5 · 03/09/2005 17:00

It's in Fort William in Scotland. I'm not much into spectating either, but dh has been building the children up (10 and 7)to a level of excitement about the event and they're all dead keen to go - I'm worried it'll make me feel so c~*p that I'll avoid my bike. All the same, it's a weekend away camping and in the hills so thats a bonus.

I used to do it a lot pre-DS, mostly to get to mountains! That will be a rocking w/e in the Fort. I can almost smell the weed already.....

Hi5 - did you get booked into Caolasnacon?

hi5 · 06/09/2005 13:58

Hi kbear, I rang and spoke to a very friendly lady who told me that I didn't need to book for a tent although all her carvans were booked out by students from birmingham university - so highlander - you may be right with regards to certain aromas. IME the mountain bikers save their lungs for getting up mountatins - or is it just us older ones? Us being myself and DH!

When are you going? I am very jealous. Haven't been up this year and miss it. It's my two weeks R&R from the ratrace in London! I've been going there since I was a baby.

Pagan · 06/09/2005 15:11

I used to do it but don't think it would be the done thing to go hurtling down a hillside with DD or DS rattling away on the child seat .

I didn't do anything extreme but do miss cycling as much. Things are a bit more gentile now as I amble along the canalside

Am in Scotland but don't think we'll be going to the worldcup. One of those things where I'd get bored after watching it for 5 mins and then want a shot myself

We are going this Friday, it is on all weekend. We have a gondola pass to go up in the a.m. - think it will be quite busy. DH tells me all the trails thereabouts are closed for mountainbiking so it will be a walking boots job.
