I think each one has it's own rules and they should send you a comprehensive list when you get a seller place.

I have helped a few times, normally on clothes. You do have to supply your own hangers. Stuff sells better if it is on a hanger from the original shop with the right age on, that's not logical but I think it makes it appear more like a shop. (You could ask for a job lot on freecycle?) At ours coats seem to always sell and older kids stuff seems more popular than baby stuff, I think because there is loads of baby stuff and not much older kids stuff as it gets too worn out for the sale. Worn out stuff won't get put out.

I have also helped on books and they need to be cheap to sell due to volume.

IMO toys are usually inderpriced and sell out.

so can i bring as much as i want? (and good idea about the hangers - freecycle)

Many sales will have coat hangers you can have if you ask in advance, or try freecycle. Most sales now sale all clothes have to be on hangers, but check the guide.

Agree with moomaa (another long term NNS helper here!) I would say that clothes need to be very good condition, good value and decent brands - supermarket clothes won't sell unless you do a good bundle and price very low.

Putting together outfits (plain top under a dress; top + trews) also helps things sell.

Toys, jigsaws, books and equipment are easier sells, but for bigger items, need to be priced slightly lower than you might sell on ebay (people are in 'bargain' mindset usually. Again bundling things (eg set of baby rattles) can work well.

Make sure that everything is clearly labelled/fix bits firmly on -there is a scrum, and it's easy for price tickets come off/things get pulled apart then they'll be taken out of the sale.

Spending a bit of time making things look nice ito presentation (clean, in decent box, with clear attractive label) makes a big difference, imo)

HTH!

xpost Smile Each sale will have it's own rules ito how much you can bring (e have a strict limit on clothing, for example - 30 peices per seller I think (although we never actually count them!)
