Great - first full day on the job on his own (TV Licensing Officer) and the last house he visited at 8.50pn an elderly black man re-opened the door after DH had already gone back up the path and shut the gate, grabbed a rock/brick (he didn't hang around to see exactly what it was) and threw it.

Thankfully missed him, but landed in the road with quite a thud apparently - and this was in a supposedly 'average' area of town .

No Blu, but each of those groups of people carry their own stereotypes, but noone would have failed to see what the importance of using those terms would have been.

I really feel people have swung too far.

Why do we have to tiptoe around the fact the man was black? Imo only a person who thinks stereotypically of black men would pick up on anything being wrong with QofQ's sentence.

If the world were wiped of sterotypes this wouldn't occur would it. Would that be an ideal? to have a world without sterotypes? If so then i think we ought to be careful with being falsley "pc" as this could have an undesired affect on working towards an equal and diverse world to live in.

"Old people, women etc are not typically categorised by age or gender linked to criminal acts like chucking bricks. black people are."

I can't say I've ever heard any stereo types of ELDERY black people being linked to criminals acts.....

The stereotype which is heard most often about blacks is the young black "thug".

Dior i have not taken the piss out of you.

And my last few posts are talking generally about situations like this one. Not all directed at you personally as i don't know you at all.

I'm just expressing my thoughts on OTT pc, which in my books isn't being pc at all but thas a different story.

I don't see how it was caring more likely inflammatory to have pointed this out in the first place. Nitpicking and hoping that you could belittle someone for a comment they made.
It didn't turn out your way so you're having a strop attack and not going to post on this thread again!!
