What does a typical week look like for your only DC?

Please can you describe a typical week for your only DC in terms of activities? For example do you set aside X amount of hours to play one on one with your DC, as there are no siblings to play with? Do you organise a certain amount of playdates outside of school? Do you book clubs for your DC and how many per week?

Our only DS is 5 and recently I’ve been wondering if he has enough stimulation, do I need to do more ‘organised fun’ for him, even though that doesn’t come naturally to us and we are generally more spontaneous. We are content with being one and done, he seems perfectly happy and in his spare time he entertains himself playing creatively with his toys, drawing, walks/playing ball with us, some screen time etc. We do days out but these are more likely to be bigger events, less frequently. We see family with similar age DC on average around once a month, as we live over an hour from them. He’s settled in really well at school and has lots of new friends, had some lovely birthday parties etc but haven’t settled into regular play dates yet. After school club some days, but no out-of-school clubs. A fairly costly hobby that he does around once every 6 weeks, when my DH has time. As he gets older and gains condfience this hobby could well take up most weekends, but at this stage and low frequency I wonder if it’s enough or he needs more.

He’s a happy, good natured little boy and does seem bored - but I worry are we doing enough to stimulate him?

Ds is 9 I am pregnant with number 2 so may change in future .

Monday- afterschool then games night with daddy
Tuesday - brass band practice
Wednesday - afterschool then cubs
Thursday - afterschool then jujitsu
Friday - family film night/ activities
Saturday - we do archery as a family activity this takes up a lot of Saturday.
Sunday - we tend to go for a walk / homework and have an easier day.

He doesn't really do platdates whilst at school as most people work full time so the kids are all in afterschool. We do arrange playdate s or trips to the park when it's the school holidays
