Thinking about baby number 2…

Hi!
Im 34 and my husband is 35. We have a 2yr old daughter and are thinking about having another child over the next year or so. I will be 35 then and I’m worried about whether I’ll be classed as ‘leaving it too late’. My mum also currently looks after our daughter whilst we are both at work full time so I also need to have a chat with her about when our daughter is at nursery whether she would actually want to look after another child for us if we did have another? I’m just not quite sure how to mention it, I don’t want her to feel that she has to say yes! But then I don’t think she would say no either 🙈 We can’t really afford for me to drop days either at work so that’s not really an option.
thanks!

35 certainly isn't 'too late'. Classed by who?Confused

You need to have a discussion with your mum if that's the main logistical problem.

The technical term for mothers over 35 is “dinosaur pregnancies” as were all so ancient and decrepit

no one can really answer for you on the childcare point but personally I wouldn’t be having a child I couldn’t afford the childcare for. What happens if your mum is unwell / injured / can’t look after the baby or finds it too much when the baby is here? Looking after 2 is a lot for many parents, let alone grand parents
