baby being put in wrong room?

I called a nursery today about care for my dd who will be 10.5 months when I return to work. The manager said that the baby room was full for then but suggested dd be put in the 12 month plus room instead.

Is this dodgy or normal practice?

at the DCs nursery children are moved up accrding to ability and who else is in the room, so eg if they are walking they might be moved up quicker so they aren't treading on the babies!
DS was moved up when he was by far and away the oldest in the baby room, then moved down again when some more 'old babies' started I think

What's the age range in the over 12 month room? If it's 12-24 months then I'd say it's too much, but if 12-16 months then not such an issue.

Second what missus84 said.

I have done this in the past (but putting a 2.4yrs in rising 3's room, however only after meeting child and discussing with parents to see if child would cope. If they have not met your dd or asked anything about her I would be a little concerned however very much depends on age of room.

it's a 12-24 month room AFAIK. So not a good idea? No they've not met DD nor asked any questions about her.

I suppose it depends how much you like the nursery and what your other options are. It's not ideal though.
