In a nursery setting i personally wouldn't like it. Makes its a bit cold looking, prefer low highchairs in a family type set up (all around table etc). However can see the practical reasons for this. I'm a nursery manager by the way (just for background not that it means my opinion is anymore valid!)

I use strap on boosters on ordinary chairs round an ordinary table

Thanks yep have those harness things for older ones, but loads of high chairs with orrible sticky out legs, take loads of space up as well. I'm sure you can get ones that flip out when needed and back again when finished. Got very limited space and need to make better use of it.

dribbleface wondered about the atmos as well, but I think the space saving will probably outweigh the look Could always glue fluffy stuff on to make more homely

Anyway if you come accross any a link would be great.

think a company called westco? do fold out low high chairs. will have a look for you when i get a min.

KatyMac · 05/07/2010 20:52

I use these without the tray

Can't see the ones we use for babies (under 9m or so) but it's plastic, strap on & tilts back

dribbleface · 05/07/2010 20:57

nope not wesco, will have a think

Thank you, I'm looking for something that I can store without taking up too much space, the standard foldy up things tend to slip over when folded and take loads of room up, hence the wall mounted things with a flop down tray, so that the floor space is clear IYSWIM.

the low chairs at our nursery stack when not in use
pricye though

if you got folding highchairs coul dyou hang them on wall hooks when not in use?

or the Ikea ones that you can take the legs off?

atworknotworking · 06/07/2010 07:05

Thanks MrsB, we have the wooden type ones already, will need to keep for the older ones, but def need high chairs for baby's.

Thought about wall hooks but think it will look a bit pants, scruffy and they will stick out loads, have 8 ish high chairs atm so a lot to hang up.

those wooden ones are ok from 6m so long as you have the plastic insert
