Looking for a nursery near East Finchley that will do just half a day per week

Hi there

My son is 16 months old and he is looked after by a nanny for 2 days a week and my husband 1 day and me 2 days. I think he'd benefit from being in a nursery for perhaps half a day a week - I could work for the extra half day and I'm reluctant to lose any more of my already precious time with him.

Do any of you know anywhere in Barnet that operates like this? We're in East Finchley, but I'd be prepared to drive to take him somewhere.

The places I have looked at information about so far are 2 sessions per week minimum.

Look forward to hearing your suggestions.

Thanks

Batitha

Just doing half a day will be hard for your baby. Which is why most nurseries insist you do 2 sessions. It is really hard to settle children into the nursaery routine on just half a day.
Why not try a mother and toddler group that you can both go to together?

I agree with purepurple, children who attend half a day, or one day a week find it incrediably hard to settle, there is to much of a gap between times at nursery, for them to truly settle, the children who do 1 day or half days a week at my nursery, are extremly clingy, and although they do not spend the day crying they do have lots and lots of cuddles, and don't quite know what to do with themselves, and i work in 2-3's often these children start in babies, or toddlers, so have had a year or two to 'settle'.

Why do you feel your child, should attend nursery?
