Paying for Bank Holiday?

Just wondered how many of your nurseries make you pay for bank holidays even when they are not open?

I work in a nursery and management have decided to charge parents the same price for bank holidays. Only one parent has complained so far and I just wondered what the rest of you think?

Our nursery does ask parents to pay foe bank holidays even thogh we are not open. This is because staff have to be paid. If a child only goes part time and one of thier days is a Monday they are allowed to make up the time on another day.

I think it is very unfair to have to pay bank holidays especially Monday's and especially if you have two kids attending nursery and you are self-employed and are unable to work on the bank holiday. End of the day they are not providing a service it would be lovely to put kids in for a few hours on the bank holiday seeing as I am paying for it anyway. I think it is unfair unfair unfair!!!! It would be different if I were full-time or getting paid for the bank holiday. To me it's like someone making an appointment to see me and I do not bother to show up, and charge them anyway. UNFAIR!!!
