My dd attendes an asquith nursery for 2 days a week
I'm applying for a job that is morning only and really I ned a morning session that goes up until 1.30pm, but at the moment the morning sessions finish at 1pm (which is the time the job finshes)
if I ask them do you think they would let me have a session until 1.30pm or would I have to book full days even though she'll only be there for half an hour of the afternoons session

Sadly, I suspect they'll charge you for full days. I use an asquith nursery which I love, but they defitinely run it as a business and are sutiably inflexible IME. However, I won't hurt to ask. Good luck.

we have a couple like this, i just charge them a late fee. eg £2

It would depend on their staff numbers and how many children they have though - if they're full and have children starting at 1pm, they might not have enough staff to maintain the correct ratios for that 30 mins.

nurseryvoice - that's encouraging, are you an Asquith nursery?

Missus84 - yes that was what I was thinking i can't see how it would be beneficial for them, obviously I would pay for the extra half hour but it wouldn't help staffing wise unless they aren't full and need dd 3 mornings a week extra than her 2 full days at the moment

no not asquith its my own nursery, thankfully I always have enough staff.

I pay 1hr 15 extra a week so I can pick up my daughter 15 mins later every day.

My Dc go to an asquith and they would let me pay by the hour. I think you would have to pay for a whole hour. Alternatively can you drop off 30 mins latrer in morning? I was hinking of taking a job doing odd hours all over the place and they were happy to accomodate that on hourly rates. I think it depends how ull they are.
