Is 4 different childcare providers too confusing for our 1 year old

I am due to go back to work 4 days a week when dd is 1 year old, and we very fortunatly have offers from both nanny and granny to look after her, nanny for 2 days andgranny for 1 day, so we need to put her in a nursery for 1 day a week, but we are worried that having 4 different childcare providers and hence 4 slightly differnt sets of boundries etc, may get too confussing?

any thoughts, thanks

vb30 - I've had sort of similar, but only 1 granny, plus 2 mornings at nursery and a mix of me and DP over the rest of the time. DD has seemed perfectly happy with that arrangement - she's 3 now and its helping her learn the days of the week - Monday is a Mummy day, Tuesday and Wednesday are Nursery days and Thursday/Friday are Granny days. I think its helped her be more confident with other carers too as she tended as a baby to be very clingy with me.

I work part time and Daddy works shifts - she has several carers: nursery, grandparents now and again, my sister and between me and Daddy. Days are completely random and we were also concerned.

She';s not been bothered at all. She wakes up now (2.5 years) and says 'is it nursery today?" "is daddy at work today" and its nice to tell her whats happening/

We do, however, talk with nursery and Grandparents often about what she's been up to and changes in routine etc For example when meals are, but then often we change it anyway.

I think, reflecting on thsi, that DD is 'used to' not having a fixed routine. SHe is a very sociable and happy go lucky kiddie so maybe that helps....

Bear in mind that lots of nurseries insist you do a minimum of two days a week - the fewer days children do the harder it can be for them to settle.

My nursery has a policy of 2 sessions, i.e morning/afternoon so their minimum is one day per week.

Mine (13 months) has exactly the arrangements you describe and seems to be fine . Great that grannies can help!
