2 nurseries both providing p/t care for ds?

I'l try and keep it brief, and explain properly.

Ds is 3 in May, I have been a SAHM since he was born, but could potentially be going back to work within the next month.

He had name down for local private preschool from June (we in Scotland so funding from Aug), was going to go part time, hours undecided as yet. I liked it as its close, they only take them from 2.5 so no babies, older staff (all 40+), feeder into local school - he will be there for nearly 2.5 years.

Anyway, in a change to plan, I had contacted them to see if they could take him full time, from easter - they can only do 4 days, although she did say you could try and get another parent to swap to make 5 days.

So I contacted another nursey that is next to dh's work, that I have seen before. Its year old, swedish concept nursery..ehatever that means. They can take him full time. My only reservations about this place is that they take 6weeks -5 years, and its no where near school, so obviously none of the kids he makes friends with will go to his primary. Oh and woman from his current playschool works there, so would settle well.

Soooo

I was thinking, it would be fab if first nursey could do tues and thurs, and second one mon, wed, friday.

Tbh is seemed like an ideal solution, as ds is quite easliy bored, so thought 2 different places would give him the best of both woirlds, 2 completely different environments/sets of people etc?

What d'ya think? Is it possible? What are the downsides that I havent thought of?

TIA if you have managed to get to the end, and follow it.

My DD does 2 days at private day nursery and 2.5 days (term time) at school nursery. She settled in fine.

It is a bit faffy to be honest and she does have her favourite (the school one) but I think this is because she is treated as older and more independent at the school nursery - but apparently the food is better at the day nursery (I send a packed lunch in to school - thanks kid!).

The downsides would be whether alternate days are too unsettling - my daughter does 2 days and 2.5 days together.

I could probably do Mon Tues Wed at 1 and Thur/Fri at other I suppose...

IMHO it would be better to do the days together, but other than that being in 2 environments seems to suit my daughter well. She also goes to my parents before and after school nursery and in the holidays, so she has lots of different types of activities and carers. More interesting for her than being stuck at home with me (in fact she finds weekends 'boring'!)
